Simulation of VOC Emission During Loading Operations in a Crude Oil Tanker

چکیده
“Volatile Organic Compounds” (VOCs) are known to contribute significantly environmental pollution. Crude oil loading operations in a marine tanker produces significant quantity of hydrocarbon (HC) vapours the surrounding atmosphere. A large percentage these HC vapour emission consists ‘Volatile Compounds’ (VOCs). This VOC has not been previously analysed detail understand health and impact. The scope study reported this paper demonstrates use chemical processing simulation software (Aspen HYSYS ®) model identify VOCs during crude operations. objective is determine detailed variation volume composition hence, VOCs, as level ship's tank rises while being filled influence temperature pressure on extent emission. Total per tonne calculated compared with other similar field measurements. analysis identifies concentration toxic emission, well liquid fraction lost operation. data for between 10°C 45°C from empty 90% full. resulting information useful assess impact efficiency current Potential recover monetary loss by increasing installation 'VOC Recovery Unit' analysed.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Optimal Scheduling of Refinery Crude-Oil Operations
This thesis deals with the development of mathematical models and algorithms for optimizing refinery crude-oil operations schedules. The problem can be posed as a mixed-integer nonlinear program (MINLP), thus combining two major challenges of operations research: combinatorial search and global optimization. First, we propose a unified modeling approach for scheduling problems that aims at brid...
متن کاملComputational Fluid Dynamics Simulation of a Crude Oil Transport Pipeline: Effect of Crude Oil Properties
Transporting crude oil inside a pipeline is a common process in the petroleum industry. Crude oil from different sources has different properties due to terrains and climates which cause the transport profile to change during operations. In this study, the computational fluid dynamics model was developed using computer language code. The governing equations were employed to study the effect of ...
متن کاملGlobal optimization for scheduling refinery crude oil operations
In this work we present an Outer-Approximation algorithm to obtain the global optimum of a nonconvex Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP) model for the scheduling of crude oil movement at the front-end of a petroleum refinery. The model relies on a continuous time representation making use of transfer events. The proposed technique focuses on effectively solving a Mixed Integer Linear Pr...
